Denis Wick 5504-B Brass Straight Mute for Trumpet or Cornet
This is perhaps the most successful and copied trumpet mute in history. Since it was first designed in 1968, it has given trumpet players exactly what they need: a perfectly in tune mute in all registers, a great feel that does not affect the "punch" of the instrument, and the ability to produce a fiery fortissimo.
The reason for the success of this Denis Wick mute lies in the design, care and precision of the manufacturing. A very open mute, larger than all of its predecessors, it provides a full sound and avoids the problem of tone sharpness found in many trumpet mutes.
This brass-bottomed version is heavier than the regular aluminum style, and provides a brighter tone with the ability to project a sharper sound in the orchestra.
